Poetry is the emotion that your soul can’t speak out loud. – Ari’El Gleffe
I told the water
I told the water what you did. Even yet your tongue slithered lies, masking me as a monster. I remain anchored, tethered to the lifeforce of the ground that kisses my bare feet upon it. Your destruction encircles me like a whirlwind of chaotic forces unseen. But I remain unshakable, protected by forces that would make you question reality.
The loss of a loved one
I looked into my heart and couldn’t find you there. Nor in the mist after the rainfall. Your absence screamed into the void that gripped my soul like a dying ember. Our memories play through my mind on repeat, but I have already filled the ocean with my tears that carry the memories of you. Your soul has flown to a paradise that I’m not welcome to. I just hope that you hold on to the memory of me too.
